About Ronzinante Teatro
RONZINANTE, established in January 2001, is a cultural association originated from a group of young friends with the passion for theater, movies and photography aiming to promote new activities, related to that kind of arts, in Northern Italy. The different aspects of those disciplines, theater mainly, have been always considered with the purpose to get them suitable and enjoyable to a popular but international audience. A main goal of the RONZINANTE activity is to improve knowledge and cross-understanding among the different European cultures always stressing the importance of foreign cultural influence and, meanwhile, promoting Italian traditions abroad. Within said idea of developing an European single culture RONZINANTE started its activity in 2001 by arranging and performing various theatric plays based on guidelines which refer to the tradition of the Italian Commedia dell’Arte. The following pieces are among the aforesaid plays:
  • Truffaldino servitor di due padroni” better known as “Arlecchino servitor di due padroni” by Carlo Goldoni with a long run in France (2006), Spain (2008) and Austria (2012) as well as winning play in various contests.
  • El ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha- tra finzione e realtà” form the well known text by Miguel de Cervantes.
  • Aspettando Godot” by Samuel Beckett, another winning play in different contests for performance, direction and cast.
  • 1,2,3..Shaskespeare” a long walk along, in a funny way, the complete works of the great British comedy writer. This play performed in both Italy and Spain.
In more than twelve years time RONZINANTE built a sound basis in the territory around the Lombardy capital Milan thanks to strong cooperations with local municipalities, schools, libraries as well as many cultural Italian and European organizations. The main evidence of the international cooperation is the co-production of an italian-spanish theatrical work titled “Allo Stesso Tempo – Al Mateix Temps” together with the Manlleu group TEATRE CENTRE in Catalunia which won a competition of the European Community for artistic projects among the European nations in 2008.
